Carnival Sunshine Coming to Charleston in 2016

Carnival Cruise Lines announced today that it will begin offering cruises out of Charleston on its cruise ship Carnival Sunshine in 2016.
Carnival Sunshine was launched in 1995 (as Carnival Destiny) and was the first passenger ship over 100,000 gross tons ever built. Just 20 years later, the world's largest cruise ships are now over twice that size. Sunshine no longer ranks even in the top 50.
Carnival Fantasy (built in 1990 and refitted in 2013) has called the Port of Charleston home since 2010. Between the the two ships, around 100 cruise departures per year will be offered from Charleston.
